This new section comes after huge demand from visitors to have an overview of what recordings exists in a "bootleg" format. The information contained in this section is purely for informational purposes. Consequently, we cannot assist you in any way to track down any of these recordings. It is also not a complete list, nor do we intend it to be(come) so. Our intention is purely to provide fans an overview of the most outstanding recordings of every tour, as well as highlight those live recordings that captured an important moment in Sting's career.
A big thank you to Samuel Gullit, Johny Markowitz, Leila Shumpeter and Grace Clark for their valuable contributions.
What is a bootleg?
A bootleg is in fact an illegal recording of material that is not commercially available, thus containing broadcasts, live shows or unreleased studio or demo out-takes. This should not be confused with pirates since the latter is a copy of an existing release, often but not always true to the original in tracklisting or artwork. However, the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for example has a slightly differing view, and categorises demos, outtakes and unreleased tracks also under piracy.
