The Police CDs at eBay USA | eBay UK | eBay DE
The Police 30th Anniversary reunion world tour will kick off May 28 at Vancouver's GM Place and travel through North America until early August 2007. The official tour announcement will be made this morning at legendary Sunset Strip club Whiskey A Go Go by singer-bassist Sting, 55, drummer Stewart Copeland, 54, and guitarist Andy Summers, 64.
Other Canadian dates are Edmonton on June 2 (venue TBA), Toronto's Air Canada Centre on July 22 and Montreal's Bell Centre on July 25. There is also a chance there will be multiple shows in some markets that sell out fast. The trek, The Police's first since 1984's Synchronity tour, will make its way through North American arenas and stadiums, although there are some specialized events on the schedule, until the first week of August before a break. From late-August until mid-October, the trio will play the U.K. and Europe, before returning to North America in late October and then travelling beyond to Mexico, South America, Japan, Australia and New Zealand.

In addition, following dates are also known:
7/28/07 - Fenway Park, Boston
8/1/07, 8/3/07 - Madison Square Garden, New York
In addition, we had 1000 visits per second the last few hours ... yes you read it correctly, so our servers went down :-). Everything should be back ok now.

late-august until mid-october in Europe?? Does this automatically rule stadiums out?? OMG if they're going to do arenas I'm already imagining the ticket rush....

No, some of those stadiums already have roofs which will be closed when there is a concert anyway.
And I think you can play outdoors in Italy, Spain and Greece till October.
And you can for sure play outdoors in August/September.
I prefer arenas anyway;-)

Hi Everyone,
Does anyone know if this tour will be organized by Live Nation?

This was from Billboard.com
In what is destined to be an historic run, the Police will embark on their first tour in 23 years, beginning May 28 at the GM Arena in Vancouver, Billboard.com can exclusively reveal. As part of a tour that will play arenas and stadiums internationally through the end of the year, the band will also headline the June 16 date of the Bonnaroo festival in Manchester, Tenn.
As expected, the tour will be produced worldwide by the Next Adventure in association with RZO Entertainment, under the direction of Arthur Fogel, president of TNA and chairman of global music for TNA parent Live Nation. Further details of the tour will be announced today (Feb. 12) during a press conference at the Whisky a Go Go in West Hollywood, Calif.
The announcement comes in the wake of the Police's dynamic performance of "Roxanne" last night to open the Grammy Awards on CBS. "Ladies and gentlemen, we are the Police and we're back," Sting shouted as the group kicked into the song.
Talk of a Police 30th anniversary tour has been rampant in the previous weeks. Sources close to the tour exclusively tell Billboard.com that the plan is for the Police to tour North America through the first week of August, then play the U.K. and Europe, returning to North America in late October.
The rest of the world will follow, including Mexico, South America, Japan and possibly Australia and New Zealand through the end of the year. About 80 shows are currently on the books, including 24 cities in North America. There also is the possibility that the Police will play several stadiums both in the U.S. and abroad, but as of now Fenway Park in Boston is the only confirmed stadium date. No festivals other than Bonnaroo are currently planned.
Best Buy is the North American sponsor of the tour. Tickets will be scaled primarily at $225, $90 and $50. Tickets for Vancouver, Toronto and Montreal will go on sale Feb. 17. Other markets, including Boston and New York, will go on sale Feb. 20. Ticketmaster will orchestrate a pre-sale through a newly created Police tour website a few days prior to the general public onsales. It is highly likely that the Police will be the top-grossing tour of 2007.
Sting, guitarist Andy Summers and drummer Stewart Copeland split in 1984 following the release of their most successful album, "Synchronicity," although they regrouped for a handful of concerts in 1986 before breaking up for good.
The Police's lone public performance prior to the Grammys was at the band's 2003 induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The group also played an impromptu set at Sting's 1992 wedding to Trudie Styler.

The tour is sponsored by LiveNation which is owned by Ticketmaster & yes, they will be supplying tickets, probably at top dollar!
Posted by: coopsy on Feb 13, 07 | 1:10 am
---------------------------------------------------
Mets: the tour is PROMOTED by Live Nation, not sponsored. Huge difference. And Live Nation does not "own" Ticketmaster.

I thought this tour wasn't about the money

Not one ticket will go unclaimed, we will all sacrifice, I can't wait 23 more years to see the "final" tour!!!

$100? This is seriously ridiculous.
So is signing up for a free subscription to the message boards which, as it happens, are down with heavy traffic :-) Not even allowed to see the whiskey webcast. That's a promotional announcement to entice press and people to come to see the tour!
but the Mp3 is quite nice. I've been waiting to hear that sound recreatyed again for years and years! excellent. Now let's see the Europe dates come through!

Front block tickets for Madison Square garden are being sold one site for $10,000 per ticket !!! They aren't even supposed to be on sale yet !

Ah, now I get it.
I was under the impression thepolicetour.com was a fan site. But no, it's a place where touts can pay $100 to get 4 tickets to sell off later for $10.000.
Good, glad we cleared that one up.

Does anyone else think it's insane the only way you can watch a replay of the press conference is if you join the $100 membership of the fan club? Some of us had to work yesterday and couldn't get online or watch VH1 Classic. Ridiculous.

tour is sold out...This sucks
Posted by: rag on Feb 14, 07 | 2:39 am

Hopefully the fan club presale will be better than Best Buy.

---------------------------------------------------
Jedi,
You should keep trying...it may say the tickets you want aren't available, but keep trying. I got mine on like my 10th attempt.
I haven't been on in about 35 min. Did they actually say the Best Buy presale was sold out?
Posted by: bobscribe on Feb 14, 07 | 2:54 am
---------------------------------------------------
The Police we know and love died 23 years ago. Prepare to pay a lot of money and prepare to be disillusioned and disappointed. Sorry to say this is clearly about the money and I find it very distasteful. The policetour website has proved that. They want your credit info for a free registration! Forget it! I'll buy the Police Around the World DVD and any old school Police stuff they release. I think this new tour is going to be a fiasco.
I will say this - I'm happy for Stewart because he seems truly joyful about this reunion. It really seems to be about the music for him.

I emailed Best Buy to express my disgust at their scheme to have a pre-sale for loyalty card holders. How does having a Best Buy loyalty card relate to being a fan of the band ? I told them that the customers must think they've won the Lottery as they could buy the tickets (with no intention of going as they are no fans) and can sell at 10x the face value. It stinks. Yep I was right. If you go on eBay.com the Best Buy pre-sale password is being sold for $175 !!! It's an absolute disgrace and something should be done about it. This is the worst form of touting I have ever come across.

got 2 tics to the Toronto show at noon today 18th row floors - Bestbuy presale code.

---------------------------------------------------
Today at exactly 12:00 noon, I purchased two tickets to the July 25 concert in Montreal through the BestBuy Presale on www.ticketmaster.ca I got seats in the 8th row on the Floor.
Who has the better seats ... the BestBuy Presale or the Fan Club Presale?
Posted by: Montrealer on Feb 14, 07 | 3:55 am
---------------------------------------------------
but how much did it cost ya?
---------------------------------------------------
The tickets on the Floor for the Montreal concert were C$225 each plus service charge. So the total cost for the two tickets was C$481.
Posted by: Montrealer on Feb 14, 07 | 4:14 am
---------------------------------------------------
Fenway Park were near impossible to get. I got through in 1 minute and told that tickets were unavailable. so I guess I am going to have to join this stupid fan club.

So what is the deal with the codes?? Is there a different one for each person, or one code for everyone??
WHAT IS THE CODE???
Posted by: scottie2 on Feb 14, 07 | 12:17 pm
---------------------------------------------------
So what is the deal?? Because I don't shop at crappy Best Buy I get screwed for tickets? What a shaft!!
They are up to $3000 per pair on ebay. What a f@cking joke!
Posted by: scottie2 on Feb 14, 07 | 12:54 pm
---------------------------------------------------
Exactly what I was saying earlier. I think someone should inform the band management about what's going on. It's a disgrace.
Posted by: culps on Feb 14, 07 | 7:00 pm
---------------------------------------------------
what is real sad is that days before the fan club pre-sale, there are already thousands of tickets for sale by ticket agencies. Many of the best seats are already gone. Once again, the little guy gets screwed.
Posted by: jedi664 on Feb 15, 07 | 12:20 am

I just spoke with some friends who bought tickets through the "Police Fan Club" Presale.
The tickets offered through the "BestBuy" Presale yesterday were indeed better than those offered today through the "Police Fan Club" Presale.
Posted by: Montrealer on Feb 15, 07 | 2:55 am
---------------------------------------------------
No one is paying $3000 or even $1000 on Bay per ticket on eBay. The most I've seen are $700 or so for two tickets.
If you own something and can profit by selling it there is nothing wrong with that. It's just business. This is how our economy works.
I have a Best Buy presale code that I plan on using. If I get tickets I will probably sell one or both for a profit. I don't think that is wrong. The scalping situation is the Police's fault. They are selling them for less than the market value. Maybe all tickets should be sold as eBay auctions? This would cut out the middlemen.
It IS too bad some hardcore fans won't get the chance to see the Police though.
Posted by: triamalese on Feb 15, 07 | 4:15 am
---------------------------------------------------
There are no more Best buy seats. The fan club seats were just horrible. I'm just glad I was able to get 2 at the rate some people are going.
Posted by: jedi664 on Feb 15, 07 | 11:04 am
---------------------------------------------------
Holy bejesus.
Well, I got 4 tickets. Not very good ones either. ALL of the floor and first level ($225) were sold out :( I got 3rd and 4th row balcony.
Posted by: scottie2 on Feb 16, 07 | 7:15 am
---------------------------------------------------
I was only able to get 2 seats in sec 32 for Fenway.
Not complaining about getting only 2, just wish being a fan club member that I could have had a choice of a better seat
