THE POLICE REUNION ... RUMOUR |
|
The Police CDs at eBay USA | eBay UK | eBay DE
Ok, don't shoot us, but is always fun hearing nice rumours, the latest one being that according to U2's stage manager Rocko Reedy, The Police are reuniting for a tour in 2007.
Also, on 21 December, the Viva German Music-channel reported that The Police will Tour the World in 2007 for a last Goodbye Tour.

And why on earth the U2 stage manager should know such a thing?! :-o
However, I really hope this is not true. Their legend is still intact. They will ruin everything if they reunite. I must say that, however, there are many signs of this possibility.....

hahaha, its funny that a u2 man said this. i always think that the police is much bigger than u2 because police stopped after 5 brilliant albums and u2 made one boring album after another! everyone in my view is sick from bono´s face face in the press!
normally i hate reunions - but the police are one of the bands who could do this. because they are brilliant, unique musicians! but sting wouldn´t do it. i know this, its very sad.

Oh nooo, say it ain't so!!! :-0
Lol! I agree with you Micra!
Re Carlos, The Police and U2 are totally different, the Police had 3 huge egos, U2 only really has one so as a band it still works! :P

The Police will not reunite...its as simple as that....Sting will put out another album in 2007 of him playing his hits on a Kazoo...

mmmh... kazoo isn't right, he can't sing and play it at the same time!!! LOL! :-)))

Maybe he will do a little tour (like 10 dates) and then will be able to return to his Kazoo Untitled Yet Project. Which is totally possible !

no Police reunion? are you feeling ok? I constantly hear people talk about that they are older and it wouldnt be the same....not true.....they just need to rehearse, unlike their short rehearsal for the RR Hall of Fame show.
Police reunion...yes...i cant take another Sting album of complete nonsense...

We can debate it till the cows come home but 2007 is just around the corner. We'll see, but for the record I predicted it months ago oh and the kazoo album too ;-) I hope all you naysayers have tasty hats... ROTF :-D

In the spirit of everyone expressing their opinion here, I would like to share mine and say that I would much rather see a brand new album from Sting later this year than a Police reunion. In fact, I hope to never see the Police play again. The performances at the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame were uninspired and lacking in so many ways. All three of those guys are at much different points in their lives now than they were in the 80s and it just doesn't work anymore. It's ok. People grow up and mature.
---------------------------------------------------
Now , that's what I want to see... The Police- all grown up and mature version :-) I personally think that would REALLY be somethin :-)

I emailed the "source" of this rumor. He totally denied ever saying this, and also said that Bono's tech - and his friend and co-worker - is also employed by Sting and he never mentioned anything like a Police reunion. He was mystified how the rumor was started.

He said. He didn't say. Someone said. Someone didn't say. I won't be convinced for a while yet. I didn't believe Sting the last time I seen him say it's not happening. I think he was hiding the fact that it is :-) Have you ever watched someone lie, when you know there lying??

My Dear, im not hard on Sting...Sting is being hard on his fans. Seriously folks, Songs from The Labyrinth is not good.(my opinion of course) Im not going to buy it just because Sting put it out. I admire his desire for change, but i think thats pushing it a little. I've been a great fan to Sting for over 25 years. The Police are a great band, and will always be a great band. It would just be nice to see them collaborate on another disc. Call it Ghost In The Mondatta or something.

The Police having a reunion would be interesting. Magic. Of course it would be different to the first time but they still are great musicians, and the songs stand the test of time, and Sting's voice is better than ever. Sting was asked on BBC1 Breakfast programme (UK) recently if The Police would reform; I thought he was very dismissive to the reporter, which he tends not to be these days (as opposed to the 80's when he could be quite a difficult interviewee) so perhaps indeed he was lying!

Just remember the old saying "You can't go home again". It would be a huge mistake for the Police to re-group, too many years and events have intervened, and it would be like trying to breathe life into a dead body. Let's just remember the group as it was in its best years - sequels are very seldom successful.

A few new songs on the MIB2 and a final tour would be great for all the fans. I think Sting has gone off the deep end on his solo career.
Sting needs to get back to his roots and his fans and do something special. The music seen is dead and where are the great bands?? and huge world tours?? they don't exist anymore.
