WATER OF TYNE ON NEW CD |

 Water Of Tyne (performed by Sting & Jimmy Nail) has been re-released on a new CD "Tall Ships Rivers and Sea (MWM Music)", released as part of the Northumbria Anthology. It has also contributions by Alex Glasgow (Dance te yer Daddy) and Billy Fane (Bobby Shaftoe, Sally Gee, The Sandgate Girl's Lament and Winkle Pickin' Willie). This release neatly articulates the nautical history of the Tyne region.
There are musical references to Tynemouth, Cullercoats, Sunderland and Shields (both North and South, presumably) from many other local musicians including Bob Fox, Judy Dinning, Johnny Handle, Graeme Danby, the Northern Sinfonia and more.
