I know we've done this but it's been so long I've forgotten and besides, this forum needs some excuse to talk to each other...

I was 13 and I was trying to sleep only to be woken up to the sound of 'If I Ever Lose My Faith In You' playing very loudly in the house on the opposite side of the street...it made me cry like a little baby. I knew I had to find out more.

Aged 14 I received TST album for my birthday.

The rest was a haze of indulgence only my family can truly testify to!

haha... love to hear from you all. You too REgglabbla!

oh, wait, you said Sting?.. i thought it was when did i first see ozzy osbourne taking a nap.

yeah, i was 9 and I remember seeing the videos for Cowboy's Song and Seven Days (basically on the same day or week) in quite a heavy rotation on one of our young and fresh-faced post-commie tv channels. i liked the sound of it naturally, and the happy faced, bright-summer-morning atmosphere of the video (ah, Seven Days session). and soon i got my mom to look for some recording of mr. sting since i knew nothing of music shopping in my hometown. she got me a 90min tape with '87 on side A and '91 on side B and I was hooked on the Sun from its very first percussive funky vocoderish (a whole bunch of everything straight into my green brain) uplifter.

Wow 9 you had really mature music tastes for a 9 year old!! Although I was obsessed with David Bowie in Labyrinth (and the soundtrack by Bowie) when I was about 4 so I guess its not that odd!! :P

I became a fan of Sting when I picked up a Best Of Sting/Police album in a bargain bin in a supermarket, lol!! I think it was about 6 years ago, I was hooked straight away and had to find more!! And the more I found the more I liked! Sting's music also made me search out other music I wouldnt have done otherwise!

Ghost in the Machine... I spent most of my summer in '83 with that album even though Synchronicity was all over the airwaves. The next Christmas, one of my sister's bought me Outlandos, Regatta and Synchronicity. Even though I was familar with MIB and DSSCTM, the albums were what sucked me in. I took a bike ride and 2 buses to pick-up Zenyatta at the Mall. I missed 3 chances to see them live and was a little devasted in that. I've always been struck by the music. My first great love in life, of sorts.

When I was 13 years old I have casually listened to Best Of Sting&Police. It was of my brother (another Sting's fan). Song after song I have fallen in love with Sting's music.

I remember that I saw "Send Your Love", I didn`t know English enough to understand all words in the song, but I like the idea and video. Then I saw "Stolen Car" and wanted to stroke his blond head.
After, in 2007, when I was 18, Sting was everywhere around me - TV, newspapers and magazines, The Police wanted to play on Grammy. And my friend Jessie Martin talked about him. So I was attacked by Sting and fall in love)))

I was 6 when I first time saw Sting. It was “Dune” on TV, but I didn’t like it much… I’ve always loved some Sting’s songs, e.g “Desert Rose” or Fragile”… But only when I was 15 years old I’ve heard the Police’s song “Message In A Bottle”, and fell in love with its lyrics. The lyrics of “Fragile” has completed the deal. So from that moment up to now I’m in love with Sting!

I was in high school and a date took me to see "The Secret Policeman's Other Ball" film at a local theatre. He sang "Message in a Bottle" and Lead on "I Shall be Released". Maybe 1981 or '82. Beautiful.

Well, around 1980-81 I first noticed their music, and probably actually LISTENED to Zenyatta Mondatta in 1982. I still love Reggatta De Blanc the best.

Strangely enough i heard ´The Police´front leader voice around 1977...but only later when I met Sting in Belem concert ,i guess it was 1979 in Lisbon ...that i became a huge fan not only of his and theirs work...but also of his ...only his *blue eyes* ...all very natural for the teenager ...i was, then!
However it all became very entwined after 1998 with a Brand new Day...
Like so many others confessed,Sting´s music became larger then life, the soundtrack of an existency...a knot in my throught when he last 02/10/2009 anouced *02.10.09 Sting at Guitar Art Festival in Belgrade...
Sting told Blic that "On Monday I plan to enter the studio and start recording a new album. I still have no idea how the album will sound, but there is beauty in that uncertainty..."
The only certain thing in life is death...My dear Mother heart stopped beeting last 02/02/2009 ...She is death! My poor dear mom...i love her for ever...
