I was reading the review of the Police Concert in the Montreal Newspaper Website. It seems every review of Fiction Plane I read they get no credit from the press. I personally thought they were a solid band. I think the problem lies in the fact that they are playing for the wrong crowd. Most of the People that see the police, just didn't seem to have the energy for Fiction Plane. I bought their CD and I think they are very good. It is hard to read these reviews because they do seem to be talented. I always heard any press is better than no press. Still it seems they are not being as well received as I think they deserve. I guess it is inevitable they just keep comparing Joe to his Dad. Those are very big shoes to fill. Give him twenty years and then we'll see.

If you see their page at MySpace, you can see reading the comments people left that a lot have discovered them while opening for The Police and they were impressed and are now fans. So I think they are not playing the wrong crowd but every one has their own taste. The problem surely comes from the fact, as you said, that a lot still compare them to The Police and that's not a good way to approach their music. But what is a certainty is that thanks to this tour they gained and will gain numerous fans. I personally like them for 4 years now and having seen them on stage last year, I know they are very good live.
