Really great photo, Micra! It is refreshing to see him, not air-brushed out of reality but showing his age, a bit wrinkled, hair receding slightly, but eyes still bright and blue and clear - I think I like this picture better than any of the glammed-up photos that the publicists feel are necessary - Sting is still marvellously handsome, distinguished and incredibly sexy!

It is a cool photo feature about Yoga. Since I am a Yoga practitioner, I was interested and happy to find this on VF's website!

The photo was shot in Sting's wine cellar at Il Palagio and certainly nobody never ever included a lute into a Yoga asana before:-)

I always wondered if Dolette had a crush on Sting, especially when seeing Bring on the Night, I thought she was really shy in front of him and maybe she was hiding somehing (but what do I know). Anyone has the same feeling ?

I think he is really kissing Dolette. I always wondered about those 2. I'll be they have had a moment or 2. SO oh yeah always thought they were really really close. But I thought more about the Synchronicity tour.

Is there any footage where to see the little light between the two during Synch tour ?

There does appeare to be some close intimacy (don't know if it's of the physical kind) between the two on BOTN. They did work many years together on Synchronicity, Blue Turtles and Nothing Like the Sun tours. Pity they didn't get together on All This Time.

Dolette McDonald Alvarado has toured the world with some unique company: Sting, the Talking Heads, The Rolling Stones, Don Henley, Peter Gabriel and Laurie Anderson, to name a few.


As a back-up vocalist, Alvarado hit the ground running on her first national gig in 1981 when she joined a nascent band's premiere tour - "The Name of This Band is the Talking Heads." The 1980s found her on the road with some of the biggest musical acts, including Sting on his "Dream of the Blue Turtles" tour and in his in-concert movie, Bring on the Night.


Sting "treated me like a princess," she says fondly, then adds with a sly smile: "They considered me a back-up diva. I'm still a diva."


Still radiant, Alvarado counts Nona Hendricks from Patti LaBelle and The Bluebelles as her chief mentor. But the highlight of her career "creating ambience for someone else's music" was performing in fund- and awareness-raising tours for Amnesty International.


An accomplished singer in Mexican Spanish, Alvarado spent part of the 1990s touring with the "Michael Jackson of Mexico," Juan Gabriel.


When the songbird discovered Naples on vacation, she scoffed at the notion of leaving behind The Big Apple. But weary of life on the road, she put a bid on a house and moved here in 1998. Today, she leads an unassuming and contented life singing at Unity Church and greeting visitors at The Registry Resort.

I love these pics! They take my breath away. I love his eyes. What colour are they: light blue or green?

OMG!!!! we don't know Jeannette. Lotsa discussion about Sting's eye colour. My opinion is they are blue-grey turning to geen depending on light. Surely he has that kind of colour that change with light.... mine too... I have brown yes but with direct sunlight you can see the green on them. The more time I spend time on the beach, the greener they become. And happier I am!!! (not for eys colours.... lol!) :D

Micra, where have I been all the time that you were having discussions on topics like this? Why have I just recently discovered this website? I feel like crawling out of a dark scottish lake ;-) I definitely have got some catching up to do.
At the concert in Amsterdam, Sting looked into the camera and I looked at him on the big screen. His eyes were so beautiful, to me they were green. It seemed like he was looking at me, which is impossible because I stood at the right of him and he looked in front of him, but still...
My eyes are also something between green and blue, about the same as Stings eyes. So you can imagine how happy I am with them ;-)

LOL it may well be that Sting is influenced by his Irish grandmother bringing him up. In Irish-Gaelic the word for the colour of blue and green is the same - glás! Why? Just look into the sea at a fine day....

OMG he was so cute in that movie playing a nutcase.

WOW! Yummi! ehm.... I meant, B&T was a real good movie, I love it a lot. Denholm Elliot and Mrs. Olivier (Joan Plowright) were wonderful actors. I saw DE in various movies, dramatic, comic, very light and he was always a giant, not being the main character he nontheless resultes unforgettable. Who can forget him in Indiana Jones 3? And also in a great comedy with Micheal Caine (Noises Off http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0105017/) doing the drunk old actor.... simply great! As Sting said of his filming B&T "when you worked with the best you learn many things and above all humility"

Yeah, Micra I agree Sting is a great actor ;-). That's why we see all his movies don't we ;-) I remember dragging my friend to the movies to see Dune. It was an awful movie (we both agreed) and she wasn't a fan of Sting, so she must have had an bad evening then. But she is still my friend;-)
But I think he is a far better actor than Madonna. I think she is a great artist, but acting: NO. Sting can act, but he is a much better singer and performer.

I love Brimestone and Treacle! Dymples, you would love it- unlike the other films Sting has been in, he is in ALL of Brimstone and Treacle from start to finish.

It is worth buying labelle. It is a very good but strange movie. It is worth seeing it for the great acting of all these poeple. The funny thing about Dune, as many bad reviews as it got, it is now considered a cult classic with Sci-Fi buffs. I have every movie Sting was in except for "Radio On" and "Artemis 81"
