Special Fan Club Show - Vancouver, May 27

The Police will play a FAN CLUB show before they kick off their world tour in Vancouver! - This incredible event will take place on: Sun. May 27 - Vancouver, BC at GM Place @ 7:30 pm local time...
Since we know The Police Tour Fan Club members are by far the band's biggest supporters (and have waited over 23 years to see the band!), this is the band's way of saying thank you to the fan club for their loyalty and patience. This will be an extremely special show as only certain areas of GM Place will be sold, so the venue will be kept as intimate as possible. The only way that you can buy tickets for this exclusive show is through ThePoliceTour.com and by being a member of the Fan Club. Tickets will NOT go on public sale for this show.

The Police Tour Fan Club members-only presale for this show will work as follows:

- The presale will begin on Thur. April 26 @ 10am local time in Vancouver. Head to ThePoliceTour.com Tickets at this time to purchase your tickets.;

- The first day of presales will be reserved for CURRENT MEMBERS ONLY (as of 11:59 pm EST on Sunday, April 22);

- If any tickets remain, a second day of presales will be held the following day (April 28 @ 9am local time), for any new members or current members who would still like to purchase tickets, but did not purchase on the first day;

- There will be a 2 ticket limit per member;

- The 2 tickets DO NOT count toward a member's presale code count... so even if you have already purchased tickets for another date, feel free to buy!

- Tickets will all be priced at and sold through Ticketmaster (no bundle packages will be sold);

- Tickets are for reserved seating only;

- All tickets will be Will Call only and need to be picked up in person at the venue on the day of the show beginning at 12 noon (the location of will-call will be provided closer to the show date).

Don't miss this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to catch The Police gearing up to take on the world and performing for their biggest fans!

You must be a member to participate in this presale.

Important Fan Club Sale Instructions

Our fan club sale system will generate your fan club sale passcode for you when the show goes live. You will not get a passcode before the fan club sales start. We strongly advise that you carefully review the instructions on how to participate in the fan club presales before they start. View these instructions at Ticket Presale Guidance.

To purchase your tickets, please visit the ThePoliceTour.com Tickets page. Tickets for this show are strong in terms of both quantity and quality and we hope that as many fan club members as possible get seats. However, as this is a fan club exclusive, intimate show, tickets are expected to sell out very quickly. Also, The Police Tour Fan Club is not just a ticket club. Joining the Fan Club is not a promise that you will be able to get tickets to a show.

It's a great thing, but Vancouver is litterally in another world for us Europeans.... They should do another one in London or in another European city.....

Auctioning such tickets through some contest would be a much fairer thing to do.

I agree 9. They should at least have some kind of contest to go along with this gig
Guess what micra it is in another world for me too.

Selling the precious moment of first gig's excitement and intimacy for mere dollar bills?... Perhaps I'm too idealistic, but shouldn't it be something equally precious.
Otherwise, why not make such intimate concerts on weekly basis and simply charge for the sole 'exclusiveness' of it.

I agree with you Franny and 9.... but as we are saying from the very first moment of this historial reunion... it's all a matter of money. Less for the 3 cops than for all the people involved in the crazy circus. At least, that's what I prefer to believe.... I'm a candid girl... :))

I might be wrong but I think Sting's people in charge of money-making kept it low-profile and small-scale during the most part of his solo career. I don't think there were many of "pay for this and get extra this plus if you've got your membership you can get this with that and all that"..... It seems to me it used to be play touring money (tickets, unassuming merch) and albums.... The more this whole money-centered thing strikes me as something unfamiliar.

I don't usually speak about about these things, and I'm not even a member of the fan club, but I really don't see anything wrong with this! The members pay a price to be part of the club and these are the very things they should be getting more often. If they had these types of shows available for Sting.com fanclub members when he goes on tour I would certainly join. The fact that The Police are making an intimate show available to their fanclub members is not ridiculous, it is merely what fanclub members deserve for the money they are paying, and have been paying. I know it's about making money for this tour, sure. But I see this as one of the more "decent" things management has done.

Will they accept payment in loonies or twoonies?

Canadian money comes in "looneys" and "twoneys." The one dollar coin has a loon on it; the two dollar coin shows Her Majesty with a bear behind. [Get it? Say it aloud.] These coins can be spent in the fleshpots of Port Dalhousie and Port Colborne. [No relation to the author of this column; just a coincidence. Rumours that the town changed its spelling to disassociate itself from any legal liabilities resulting from my activities are not only untrue, but I know exactly who started them.]

Paying to join a fan club. That's funny.

I'll bet most of the fan club members still have all of their back issues of Tiger Beat.

I attended the dress rehearsal in Miami for the Sacred Love tour & it was a full show. There was even an extra song that didnt make opening night the next night.(all would envy) I'd say there were about 3-4 thousand people at that show.

Yob, that must be the greatest thing. I'm surprised your second row at the Police's first ever post-breakup concert deserved only one "!".....

Ok, now, the good and adequate part of the forum may start being glad for youb. The bad part of the forum (i.e. 9) may start envying and hating the guts of that lucky bastard.

They were $50 a piece!
Compared to the $250 per ticket I spent for my other shows that's a bargain!

Don't hate me 9! I never get good tickets! Things like this rarely happen to me.
I'm always envious of the johnnyjumpstarts and the trinis who seem to go to all the cool shows. (But I'm also happy for them)

Can anyone babysit on the 27th?

Are you going to both shows? So you get to see the pre-show AND the official kickoff show. That's cool!

The Fan Club tickets were cheap but the flight, hotel and the expedited service for the Passport is gonna cost me!

I'm going to the Seattle show on June 6th.
My seats are OK... Section 128. That's all I could get with my fan club password. For some reason these seats cost $225 a piece! Seems like only the floor seats should cost that much.
But the great seats at the Vancouver show makes up for everything!

Supposedly I can get my passport renewed fast by paying extra. Within 12 days.
So I need to get moving! Thankfully there's an office here in San Francisco.

Section 128 isn't that bad.... I'm in section 113 which is on the other side near half court (if this was a basketball game). Except 128 is half court other side for the same event.

Yob only as long as the break up happens after the 2 Seattle shows :P

I agree! I just don't think the seats are worth $225 a piece! Tickets that high should be floor only. But I took what I could get in the heat of the moment.

"internal debate"
That's funny!

Boy have I had a lot of "internal debate" since this tour was announced.
Actually, since I've been going to see Sting for every tour since 1985, I've had "internal debate" every single time. I always have to justify the money I've spent. Also, I'm one of those multiple show fools. The Sacred Love tour was the first time I only went to one show.

To be honest, micra, it wasn't as bad as I thought it would be. That's probably a terrible thing to say around here but it's true. I almost didn't go but I panicked at the last minute and bought tickets from a broker (first time I'd done that). I got great seats barely above the actual ticket price (it wasn't a show that was in high demand) and I ended up enjoying myself. He had great musicians and he seemed like he was in a good mood. And I thought the songs sounded better live than on the album. So for me it was actually worth it.

yobculture....I'm in section 116, row 2. I passed on floor seat since it was only pulling up singles. I want to sit with the hubby for this first show. He has forked out so much money over the years and tolerates so much when it comes to Sting. I felt it was only right to sit with him.

Re your passport. Mine expired and I won't have new one in time. We're flying to Seattle then renting a car. You don't need a passport if you are driving. Just photo id and birth certificate.

Are you sure, texasbabe??? If that's true it would be great because my dad lives in Washington. Do you have a link for this info anywhere? Because I can get my passport renewed in time; it's just gonna cost me.

By the way, we seem to have similar stories about kids, spouses, etc. My wife has always been a good sport about my Sting obsession. She likes him but nowhere near as much as I do. She certainly wouldn't go to so many shows. You must have a great husband!

Hey yobculture, it's only if you are flying that you need a passport. I did not renew my passport after 9/11......I said I would never fly again so I let mine expire. Only Sting could get me back on a plane - Vegas show and now Vancouver.

I do have a great husband. He has tolerated my love of Sting for over 25 years now. Thank goodness he is also a fan, but needless to say, not like me. : )

For once I'm actually ahead as far as regulation changes are concerned - prob. will be awhile before that happens again. For some insane reason I thought it was already 2008 for when they will start req. passports on all ferry passangers entering canada from the U.S. and cars passing the normal check points.

A Vancouver radio station was reporting that the special Police fan club show
was going to be an abbreviated show, but the Police Tour Site headquarters says that's a nasty rumour and that it will be a FULL show, so that is a relief to those who are attending.

And they had a change of address for the Official Police Tour site on My Space, we were all wondering why they had dissapeared from our friends list.
