I can't find my cds. I know what you're thinking: Clean up your car your slob. But actually, my car got hit at the school where I teach and was totalled. For your information, it was parked and I wasn't even in it but somehow the kid managed to do enough damage to total it. Anyway, I took everything out of the car that day and brought it home. Well when I got home with my huge amount of stuff, my husband helped me put it away and now I can't find my CDs!!! I'm very upset about this. I mean musically I really haven't lost anything because I can download all the songs (I think) but that's a history of my musical life and some of my Sting cds are out of print and the radio station samples and they can't be replaced. I have looked everywhere (well, obviously not because I haven't found them) and I am really getting upset about this and I just had to vent because no one else seems to understand why this is so upsetting to me and I thought you would. In Italy we have a motto "House hides but doesn't steal" that is to say that sooner or later you will find your cds!!! If you are sure to have taken them from your car and brought them home, they are surely somewhere in your house! Just relax, if you can, they will pop up when you don't think to them!

My daughter did the same thing when she wrecked her car. She piled everything in a box and forgot where the box is. But you'll find them Kim. There there somewhere. But I have almost everything if you need something.

Micra, Usually I have the same motto "Stop looking and it will come to you," but my new car has a great sound system and I want to hear all my Sting on it. I am 100% sure I brought them home but thinking about them is driving me crazy.

i know how it feels to lose your collection of music. I'm still rebuilding mine for the third time.

I know this too.... Some months ago I had to change something in my house, it was exploding with books, vhs, cds.... so I was forced to buy a bookshelf. I had to pack everything, and, I don't know why, my Sting cd singles ended up in a box that I put in my garage INSIDE the freezer of an old fridge (obviously switched off!!!!). Probably I was thinking to save them from wet air.... and then I totally forgot the thing.
When I started to look for them I went crazy, I couldnt understand how so many cd could have disappeared... and then finally, I had to defrost my home fridge. So I took the food out bringing it to the garage and when I went there to swith on the fridge... surprise! my cd singles were there. Still, I don't remember to have put them there..... my old age....... LOL!

I have a glimmer of hope. My mother suggested that perhaps I left them (those precious cds) in my classroom. This is possible because I do have a table with a table cloth that I use to 'hide' things under. Now I can't wait to get back to school tomorrow, and I never say that!!! Let's just hope I'm not disappointed early in the morning.

Just keep us inform about all the details of the plans !

No such luck. Sorry. I would have told you sooner but I can't post from school. I can only read your posts and sometimes see the pictures. I just need to stop thinking about my cds then they will stop playing hide and seek and come home to mama. Thanks everyone for thinking of me today.

I can relate in a way- I lent my friend the first Police CD I ever got cause I wanted her to get addicted to them as well but she hasnt given it back and it makes me worry even though I could simply burn another one- but it has such sentimental value!! I miss it...:-/

Strange that you should bring up loaning cds because when I was at my mother in laws house last Friday there was a Brand New Day on top of her microwave. Of course, knowing it couldn't be hers I snatched it up and asked "What is this doing here?" She thought it was a copy I had made her but it was actually my original. I knew it was missing but couldn't imagine what had happened to it. It has a scratch now. I'm not sure if I should be happy that I found (especially since I can't find my other cds) or angry that she kept it so long and scratched it.

I have to admit that I'm a little bit reticent to lend my CDs too (especially the Police/Sting ones) cause I can't stand seeing any small speck of dust on it which could alterate a little the quality of sound !!! (I know I'm too much maniac!!) So could you imagine my reaction when many years ago, I lend my Sting Best of to a dear friend of mine and she gave it back to me with a lot of fingerprints and scratches !!!
But sometimes I'm too kind : I've lent a David Bowie CD to a friend and I'm waiting for it for 4 years !!! and I've lent 2 Sting's CD to another friend who is a Sting fan (who lent me before some Police CD so...) and I'm waiting for them for 2 years (but he lives somewhat far and I had him on the phone one month ago and he said "I still have your CDs"!). Fortunately he hasn't lost it but how safe they are ??? lol

Well I know how labelle feels. My car was broken into over the weekend and my pittifull almost worthless laptop was taken in a "smash and grab". Wouldn't have minded except my only copy of Police in a Box (someone borrowed mine and never came back with it) was on it. But more importantly were photo's of my mother taken by my dad when she was alive (which could be on a hard drive elsewhere but I don't know). What really hurts is the car was broken into on the same day she passed away.

Ahhh, I'm soooo sorry Gone. Ya know, all I can say is Karma is a bitch when you cross her and the people who stole from you will get theirs. I realize that is not much comfort to you but I really believe that. I hope you have the pictures saved elsewhere. And by the way, thanks for the idea. Coal will be a wonderful mother in law gift.
